Google Integration Overview

The Google integration is a great way to keep your Google calendar aware of all your appointments created within the Start Booking app. Anytime there is an appointment created, we will push the appointment out to your calendar in real time. We also listen to changes made to the Start Booking appointments in your google calendar and update them in the Start Booking app.

We also give you the option to tell us what calendar in your Google calendars to look for possible double bookings. This means that your days of being double booked are over.

How to connect your Google Calendar

Log into your Start Booking account, click the account name in the top right to go to your account center. Then click "integrations" from the account center navigation. Quick Link:https://app.startbooking.com/account/integrations

From here, you will see the section for the Google integration like below.

Click connect and you will be taken through the Google authorization flow. This process allows you to give Start Booking software consent to manage your Google Calendar. You can always disconnect at any time. When you return back to the integrations page, you should have a successful connection established and the button will change from "Connect" to "Disconnect". You will also have a new settings option on this same screen.

How the integration works

The Start Booking software will create a new calendar on the connected account with the account name.  For example, if your Start Booking account name was "Beauty Lab",  you would see a calendar titled "Beauty Lab". (see below) We do this so that you can easily toggle your Start Booking appointments on and off and keep your personal life separated if you want.

From this point forward, any new appointment that is created/updated/deleted will get pushed out to your account calendar in your Google calendar.

You can now go back to the integrations page and slick on “Settings” in the Google integration section. This will bring up a screen with your Google calendars listed. Using the toggle next to the calendar you can tell our system what calendars to watch. Telling our system to watch one of your calendars means that we will look for blocked out time or other appointments on that calendar. This makes it so our system will not double book you on that calendar.

Additional Notes

  • Only appointments created after the connection is established will be pushed to your Google Calendar.
  • Only appointments that have been pushed to your Google Calendar when they were created will be updated in your calendar as well.
  • This integration does support the ability for you to edit or change the appointment in Google and have the change reflected within the Start Booking software. However, this ability is only for appointments that have been made in the Start Booking app and pushed to Google.
